Who are we kidding? Irish women have spoken- we are a nation of fibbers according to new research launched by Fibre One-and it’s time to ‘fess up!

  • 85% of us want to be fitter in 2016-but without the drama!
  • 58% of us admit to wearing active wear with no intention of doing any exercise
  • 65% of us exaggerate the truth about our eating to our friends
  • Over half of us tell little white lies about the number of takeaways we’ve had in one week

Irish women have today revealed an insight on the little white lies they tell on a daily basis in relation to their fitness and eating habits -thanks to research carried out by Fibre One. Whilst we all want to be better in 2016, actually achieving goals is something we wish could be a little simpler. We wear active wear at weekends purely to feel closer to the possibility of exercising and 52% of us tend to exaggerate the truth about what we’ve eaten in a week- just to feel that bit better about ourselves.

Fibre One, the delicious bar is now available in Ireland. The tasty treats come in 2 flavours- Chocolate Fudge Brownie and Lemon Drizzle Squares- and are 90 calories per bar. Finally, a delicious 7pm treat we can enjoy without feeling guilty about skipping the gym (again)!

This week radio presenter Louise Duffy and television presenter Mairead Ronan have teamed up with Fibre One for the launch and Louise Duffy praised the product- “it is exactly what I need. I have such a sweet tooth and chocolate is my biggest indulgence- so this is a welcome addition to my biscuit jar. I am of course guilty of telling a little white lie every now and again about how good I have been so it’s nice to know I can indulge in something sweet without the guilt with a Fibre One Chocolate fudge brownie treat!”

Grainne Galvin, Fibre One Brand Manager is delighted to launch Fibre One into the biscuit market- ‘It’s really interesting to see these stats come through. We wanted to know the truth about the little fibs Irish women tell when it comes to their exercise and eating habits, because we are all guilty of it! We are delighted with the reaction to Fibre One since launching this week. We wanted to introduce a product that takes the drama out of snacking for Irish women and satisfies our cravings without the guilt. We really felt there was a gap in the market for something like this- a product that sits in the biscuit aisle and allows Irish women to have what they crave. We are delighted to have Louise Duffy and Mairead Ronan help us launch this great product in Ireland and hopefully Irish women will feel like they can relax and don’t feel the need to tell those innocent little white lies anymore!”

Fibre One Chocolate Fudge Brownie and Lemon Drizzle Squares can be found in the biscuit aisle in Tesco and Dunnes Stores now at €3.99 RRP. The Fibre One confesstion booth will be popping up at various shopping centres over the coming weeks.
