IAPI 2016 ADFX Shortlist Announced

Celebrating the nation’s most innovative and memorable advertising campaigns

14 July 2016: The Institute of Advertising Practitioners in Ireland (IAPI) has announced the shortlist for the biennial ADFX Awards at an exclusive event in The Hibernian Club in Dublin this evening.  The 2016 ADFX Awards are widely recognised as the industry’s most prestigious and celebrated awards ceremony in the calendar, showcasing the most effective campaigns over the last two years.

53 contenders in 12 categories will be honoured at the special ceremony on September 22nd 2016 in the Intercontinental Hotel, Ballsbridge. This years’ event promises to be the biggest ever with a 20% growth in entries over 2014. Whether it’s a plucky little start-up like Waterwipes, or a huge brand like AIB, every campaign has one thing in common – advertising that delivers amazing results.

Held every two years, ADFX is considered to be the most rigorous marketing communications award process in the Irish market.  Entrants have to prove, beyond any doubt, that their marketing communications campaign resulted in measurable success for their business.

Talking about the exceptional standard of this year’s ADFX entrants, Tania Banotti CEO of IAPI said, “Writing a submission is not easy. Clients and agencies spend weeks preparing a 4,500 word case study, gathering their evidence, building their case and writing a compelling story.  The winning cases are those that prove the link between their communications activity and an increase in financial value created for the client organisation.  It’s great to see so many entries this year from agencies and clients who are dedicated to effectiveness."

Chris Cawley, Chair of the 2016 Judges said, “The judging panel felt a particular sense of responsibility to be bestowed with the honour of adjudicating on an outstanding body of work from an extended group of talented agencies and committed brand owners.  We applied our collective experience and expertise with a systematic process and lots of time to ensure that we delivered on that responsibility.  A recurring theme evident in the shortlisted entries was the professionalism and rigour applied to the campaigns, coordinated across the spectrum of the client and agency teams.”

Commenting on the partnership, Pat Kiely, CEO of TV3 and headline sponsor of the awards said, “TV3 Group is honoured to, once again, be the lead sponsor of this prestigious event. Effectiveness has always been the most important metric in advertising and these awards are a great recognition of this industry’s talents. As TV3 Group continues to evolve, a key pillar of our growth strategy is facilitating creative brand solutions across all our channels. ADFX is a great platform for us to play our part in acknowledging and celebrating the Irish advertising industry at its best.”

Campaigns span a variety of sectors from charity to FMCG, tourism to public service. A new category has been introduced to measure long-term effectiveness of campaigns of more than 2 years – highlighting the importance of consistency.  The full 2016 IAPI ADFX shortlist can be viewed on www.adfx.ie.

The IAPI ADFX awards are in association with TV3, and supported by YouTube, Facebook, CommunicorpOne, The Irish Times, PML Group, Media Central, ScreenScene, The Sunday Times.
