Lidl Ireland to hire 600 new staff


Recruitment will commence immediately for roles in store operations, warehousing & distribution as well as head office to add to current 4,000 strong Irish workforce

Announcement follows continued significant growth in market share according to Kantar WorldPanel analysis

Thursday, 4th August, 2016: Lidl in Ireland has announced that it will hire 600 new staff in the next two years following significant growth in the Irish market which has taken their market share into double digits. According to recent Kantar WorldPanel market share analysis, the low cost, high quality retailer continues to deliver month-on-month increases in market share which now stands at 11.9% of the Irish grocery market.

Recruitment will commence immediately for 600 roles which will be filled over the next 24 months across all business units including store operations, warehouse and distribution support as well as head office and regional office roles. There are a variety of roles on offer in store operations such as managers, deputy managers and store assistants to support the growing store network and ongoing extension of existing stores in 146 locations nationwide. Further recruitment will also be undertaken in warehouse and distribution support, in particular for Lidl’s largest warehouse which is in planning at Newbridge, Co. Kildare. Head office roles include those in buying, which oversees the purchase of over €500 million worth of Irish sourced goods from 180 suppliers annually as well as administration, accounting and finance, property & facilities management, marketing, communications and HR.
