Bord na Móna launches search for the best Irish pubs with cosy fires

As the days get colder, the debate on the best pubs with a cosy fire to gather around and enjoy a drink begins. Where are those legendary fires perfect for the get-togethers that happen the length and breadth of the country throughout the chilly months?  Along with the people of Ireland, Bord na Móna, wants to find the very best – unearthing some hidden gems along the way.

To kick off the search, international star Gavin James will play an intimate acoustic set, or Hearth Session, on October 26th against the backdrop of a roaring Bord na Móna fire in the Parlour at Whelan’s. Gavin will play alongside some more first class Irish talent, Róisín O and Brave Giant. This is an exclusive, invite only event, but some lucky fans will have the chance to win tickets by getting involved in the debate through the Bord na Móna Facebook page www.facebook.com/bordnamonafuels.

From October 26th, voting will officially open to decide on the best pubs with a cosy fire. The shortlist of 10 pubs will be a combination of carefully selected pubs along with a People’s Choice pub fire as nominated by the Irish public.  Once the votes are counted, Bord na Móna will help the three lucky pubs to celebrate by hosting a Hearth Session of their own in November, featuring acoustic sets around the fire with Irish artists Róisín O and Brave Giant. Get voting to make sure your favourite pub with a cosy fire is in with a chance to host one of these great gigs and to win tickets to come along.

The Hearth Sessions are a celebration of gatherings by the fire in local pubs across Ireland, enjoying music and craic. A warm drink in your hand sharing warmer moments with friends and family in these true Pubs with Hearth.
