IAPI Shaping the Future of Creativity in Ireland
The Institute of Advertising Practitioners in Ireland (IAPI) has announced the seven winning creative teams who will represent Ireland in the Cannes Young Lions competition at this year’s Cannes Lions Festival, the global benchmark for effective communications and the worlds most respected advertising awards. 14 of Ireland’s most creative young stars will compete on an international stage this June against teams from all over the world in the film, print, PR, media, digital, design and marketing disciplines.
2019 saw a significant increase in entries for the Cannes Young Lions competition with over 105 teams compared with 72 in 2018, demonstrating the hunger for success that’s prevalent amongst the younger generation. Entrants were given a 48-hour period to deliver a standout creative campaign with four various charities including Spunout.ie; Fairtrade Ireland; ENAR (European Network Against Racism) Ireland and CMRF Crumlin set to benefit from the winning advertising and communications campaigns.
Speaking on the announcement Charley Stoney, CEO IAPI said: This is the 6th year of the Cannes Young Lions Competition in Ireland and yet again, we’ve been bowled over by the incredible creativity from our young talent. Submissions were turned around in a very short space of time to familiarize our entrants with the competition process on the ground in Cannes and it’s safe to say the future of the Irish creative industry is safe in the hands of our young talent. This year’s charity partners are set to benefit from some amazing campaigns and we’re confident that these best in class campaigns will deliver significant results for them. As an industry we’re constantly working to ensure that business results are linked to creative campaigns demonstrating the importance of the work that we do.
The Cannes Lions Festival, taking place from 17-21st June, provides the creative industry with access to pioneering consumer research, new ideas and emerging technologies which help to make and shape culture.
