Lidl Ireland seeking entries for Ladies Gaelic Football Association 50th Anniversary Jersey Design Competition

Winning entrant to receive €1,000 in Lidl vouchers and have 10,000 of their jersey design produced and distributed in January 2024 to kick off the anniversary celebrations

Dublin, Sunday 7th May 2023. Lidl Ireland has issued a nationwide call for entries for its Ladies Gaelic Football Association 50th Anniversary Jersey Design Competition to celebrate the upcoming milestone of 50 years since the association was founded in 1974. Running from Monday, 8th of May in all 178 Lidl stores nationwide, shoppers will be in with a chance of having their design featured on the special edition jersey

10,000 jerseys featuring the winning design will be produced and distributed across the country in January 2024 to kick off the anniversary celebrations. The winning entry will also receive €1,000 in Lidl vouchers and four tickets to the 2023 LGFA All-Ireland Finals.

To enter, shoppers must complete the design template on the entry forms which are available from the leaflet stands in Lidl stores nationwide and submit their entry via the LGFA box located behind the checkout area by Sunday, 11th of June.

The winning design will be announced in August 2023 with 10,000 jerseys being distributed in January 2024 to coincide with the launch of the 2024 Lidl Ladies National Football League. Shoppers can ensure they get their hands on one of the limited edition jerseys by using the Lidl Plus app with full details on how to redeem a jersey to be communicated when the winning design is announced.

Speaking at today’s launch, Dublin ladies Gaelic football captain and Lidl ambassador Carla Rowe said: ”Lidl has been a Serious Supporter of the LGFA since 2016 and this initiative is another example of their commitment to ladies Gaelic football, particularly as we enter a momentous year. This initiative is open to all ages and I’m looking forward to seeing the creativity of the entries – it’s a fantastic opportunity for a Lidl shopper and an LGFA supporter to have their design recognised. I am already gearing up to make sure I’m one of the lucky 10,000 Lidl Plus shoppers who’ll receive a jersey in January!”
