Ladies Day set to kick off the Fairyhouse Easter Festival as RTÉ Stylist Irene O’Brien and The Style Fairy Naomi Clarke Saddle Up as Judges

Fairyhouse Racecourse reveals Irene O’Brien and Naomi Clarke as judges at this year’s Easter Style Awards as 2024 marks the first year ever Ladies Day will take place on Day 1 of the Fairyhouse Easter Festival.

Traditionally, Ladies Day took place on the final day of the three-day weekend event. This year Fairyhouse Racecourse has announced a change of schedule, with Ladies Day taking centre place on Saturday 30th March and the BoyleSports Irish Grand National taking place on the Bank Holiday Monday.

Peter Roe, General Manager of Fairyhouse Racecourse Commented:

“Style and fashion have always gone hand in hand with Fairyhouse, and we felt that we needed to give this element of the Easter Festival the attention it deserved by moving the Style Awards onto Easter Saturday. This means Ladies Day is now suitability positioned as the main social event on the opening day of the Easter Festival, complimented by the Fred Kenny Memorial Ladies National and a vibrant atmosphere.”

As part of the first Ladies Day of the year, Fairyhouse Racecourse announced Lyrath Estate, the elegant 5-star in Kilkenny, as this year’s Style Awards Partner, adding luxury to the glamour that the Easter Style Awards bring. All are welcome to enter the Style Awards competition to be in a chance to win up to €3,000 in prizes. Registration will take place from the gates opening in the Champagne Tent.

Speaking about the partnership, Director of Sales and Marketing at Lyrath Estate, Caitriona O’Mahoney shared, “We are thrilled to sponsor the Style Award at this year’s Fairyhouse Racecourse Ladies Day, it is always a fantastic day during the weekend of racing, and we have no doubts this year will be even better, as Ladies Day kicks of the weekend of racing on day one. We look forward to seeing the style on the day and wish the judges, Irene O’Brien and Naomi Clarke all the best on the day.”

Operating as Co-Judge and MC, Irene O’Brien will host the Festival Marquee where she will interview entrants, host a pre-race tipster, and give away spot prizes throughout the day.

Commenting on this year’s Style Awards, Irene O’Brien reveals what she hopes to see this Ladies Day:

“Style is so personal and as such everyone should feel confident in their own tastes and preferences; it is this assured style and individuality that I will be keeping an eye out for in particular come Easter Saturday.

I hope that everyone creates a look based on their own version of fabulous. I love to see ladies mix clothing from their existing closet collections together with their new or vintage pieces; to think outside the box in terms of fashion and consider embracing restyles; to support Irish and Independent designers while including gems from the high street that they know they will wear time and again.

The fun in fashion is always in the possibilities so smart combinations, sustainable style, expressions of individuality, as well as creativity in creating a look are all right up my street!”

With DJ Kelly Anne Byrne spinning the decks during the day, pumping out the best 80s, 90s & 00s pop after the racing, the Festival Marquee will be the place to be this Ladies Day.
